Oh Snap!
Last week at RRK, we got down and dirty on some pizza. It was crazy yum, looked great, and totally satisfied an intense craving I had for beets and goat cheese. Behold: the roasted beet, brussel sprout, butternut flatbread with arugula pesto, shaved red onion, and goat cheese. The best part? I made this all by myself! However, I did have some help from JB and my good friend Megan when it came time to eat and enjoy. These beautiful, local ingredients were exactly what I needed to get grounded after a crazy week at work, an exhausting, action-packed weekend, and what I can only describe as "New Moon Freakouts". This dish was yummy and the leftovers happened to present themselves in the loving shape above. Score! The soundtrack was U2's Achtung Baby, a classic that still rocks pretty hard in 2012. Here's a video for my favorite jam on that record to inspire your pizza making!

Welcome
Rock & Roll Kitchen is a real place. Founded in Wakefield RI, RRK was created by JB and Emmy. JB is a SF trained chef with an attitude toward food that is kind of insane. Fond of dishes that may cause some to cringe, he's got a way of making even the craziest shit look, smell, and taste like nothing you've ever imagined. Visit him at his blog, The New Urban Peasant. Emmy is not a chef, but she loves to eat and take pictures of cats. Born out of a desire to cook food that tastes like actual food, RRK's mission is to use ingredients that are fresh, local, seasonal, and perhaps a bit unusual. Sometimes vegan, sometimes over the top decadent, and always inspired, the dishes you'll see here are bound to make your mouth water and give you a mental erection. And each meal has a killer soundtrack! Grab a beer, crank the tunes, and come cook with RRK!
